For questions related to your Trash services, including missed pickups, bin replacements or to schedule bulk item pickups please contact CVWMA at 1-804-340-0900 or cvwma.com.If you have a past due amount on your account, you will receive a late fee/disconnection notice with the amount past due and a service disconnection date if not paid.
Unpaid sewer charges will have water service disconnected by American Virginia Water, once your water service has been disconnected you will need to pay any outstanding past due amount before service can be restored. You will also be charged a Disconnect/Reconnect fee in the amount of $ 70.We offer a variety of payment options. Please remember to pay by the due date each month to avoid late fees or potential service disconnection.
Pay by Mail: Include your check or money order along with your remittance coupon in the return envelope provided and mail to the address shown in the envelope window. Always include your account number and allow 7-10 days for mail delivery.
Pay by Phone: Use our secure automated phone service to make a payment any time of the day with credit/debit card or an electronic check.
Pay online: Visit our website to make a one-time payment or register for an account online at HopewellVA.myUtilityDirect.com to pay with a credit/debit card or electronic check. Available anytime.
Pay with AutoPay: Enroll your account to automatically pay your sewer and trash charges each month on the due date. Never worry about missing a due date or having a late fee. Visit HopewellVA.myUtilityDirect.com to start enrollment.
Pay Locally: Pay by cash or check locally in our Treasurer’s office during business hours. Your payment will be automatically applied to your account and there are no additional fees when paying with Cash, Check or Money Orders. If paid in person you can ask for a paper receipt or a copy can be emailed to you.
Online bill pay services: You can electronically submit payment for your sewer and trash bill through your own bank or other bill pay provider. You will have to create a payee and enter the mailing address along with your digit account number. Use the address shown on your Hopewell Water Renewal bill. Failure to use the correct payee and remittance address may cause your payment to be delayed in posting to your account and may result in additional late fees and service disconnection if not received by the due date. If you have any questions regarding setting up your online bill pay services, please contact your bill pay provider for specific instructions. If you previously used online bill pay prior to September 2025 you will need to delete that payee and create a new Payee account for the City of Hopewell Sewer and Trash payment.
